The Mission of the Bradford Public Library is to be a center of lifelong learning through our collection, technology and historical materials.

The Bradford Public Library provides information and resources in printed, audio, electronic, and visual formats along with computer access, study room, a history room, community room,  and special

programs/events to patrons and the public throughout Darke and Miami counties and the Miami Valley region.  The Bradford Public Library is located at 138 E. Main Street and staff may be reached

at 937-448-2612 during regular hours.

The Bradford Public Library’s Summer schedule is in full swing with crafting, social events, gardening, book clubs, Sr. Citizen’s group, Genealogy Clubs

and Bible studies to meet your every wish!  Saturdays are always great days to visit the library with our Coffee & News Hour beginning at 10:30 a.m. 

Patrons are invited to sit back, relax and read one of our 70+ magazines and eight newspapers along with viewing your favorite news channel on our big

screen!  Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are free!

Highlights of the Bradford Public Library's upcoming Summer Reading Program - "Dig Deeply Into Reading: Go for it. . . Go For It. . .Max Out!" On May 23rd, the Bradford Public Library staff will be presenting an overview for Homeschooling parents, their children and any other interested patron.  Location:  The BPL Community room at 3:30pm.  Activities have been planned for young parents with preschoolers through adults of any age!  New books have been purchased especially for the Summer Reading Program and this year, each of the grade levels will have an opportunity to take a field trip to a location that highlights the theme.  For additional information, contact any staff librarian at 448-2612.

Sidewalk Chalk Decorating Contest will be held as the "Kick-Off" to the Bradford Summer Reading Program on Thursday, May 28th from 1pm - 3pm.  Each concrete section around the library will be assigned up to 2 students who are going into grades 4-8 next school year.  The young artists will be provided with sidewalk chalk and they use their vivid imagination to create a block of art that highlights the SRC theme.  Students must sign-up in advance for this activity by coming to the library or calling 448-2612.  They are to give their name and their friend's name to a staff librarian.  Prizes will be awarded!  Rain date will be Thursday, May 30th from 1pm-3pm.

First Day to Sign-up forthe Bradford Public Library's upcoming Summer Reading Program - "Dig Deeply Into Reading: Go for it. . . Go For It. . .Max Out!" is Saturday, June 1st from 10am - 1pm.  Registration is FREE and every child and adult will receive a free gift.  Registration will continue then for the next several weeks.  The following Monday, June 3rd, will be the beginning of Movie Monday's throughout the summer.  These movies will be "G" or "PG" rated and anyone is welcome to attend.  The movies will be held every Monday at 1pm in the BPL community room.  Refreshments will be available for purchase.

1.  The Genealogy Club, which meets the second Saturday of each month at 11:00am.  Joan and Bob Cain will take excellent care of your ancestry needs!

2. PRESCHOOL STORY HOUR WITH CHRIS:      Tuesdays @ 11am.  Pamphlet available @ circulation desk.

3. EVERY SATURDAY FROM 10AM-NOON:  "Cable News on the Big Screen & News from subscription papers & Magazines"!  Join us for a comfy Saturday morning & get the news you love most!  Complimentary coffee, tea & hot chocolate!

Ancestry.com is a subscription service, paid for by the Bradford Public Library for the convenience of its patrons.  Access is limited to use at the library.  Ancestry.com is one of the most well-known genealogy databases in the country!
